Sky has today released the brand-new official trailer for the return of ‘Fantasy Football League‘, hosted by Matt Lucas and Elis James, ahead of the series launch on Sky Max & streaming service NOW later this month.
The show’s return to tv is celebrated in true style with some of football’s biggest names offering immediate reaction to Sky’s latest signing in this just-released trailer, including the likes of Jeff Stelling, Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards. Across the 16-episode series football fanatic, Andrew Mensah will be joining hosts Matt and Elis, overseeing the celebrity league and sharing weekly comedy highlights from the world of football.
Each week, a pair of celebrity guest managers will join to chat about the week in football and share their fantasy teams from the digital dugout. Well-known faces lined up to appear on the new series include Succession’s Brian Cox, Jennifer Saunders, Tom Grennan, Roman Kemp, Sir Trevor MacDonald, AJ Tracey, Sam Quek, Sir Mo Farah and many more.
‘Fantasy Football League’ was, as I’m sure many of you remember, originally hosted on the BBC by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner. They then moved to ITV for a series of specials during the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2004.
The 16 episode series was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment at Sky for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content at Sky. Produced by Avalon (Taskmaster, Starstruck, The Russell Howard Hour, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver), Fantasy Football League will be Series Produced by Spencer Millman (TV Burp, The Inbetweeners 2) and the Series Director is Peter Orton (Fantasy Football League, TV Burp, The Russell Howard Hour).
