TV Premiere Highlights Coming To Disney+ UK In July 2024

Descendants, Futurama, Abbott Elementary, BRATS, and more!

The summer months are finally upon us (*looks at weather* – apparently…) but Disney+ has plenty of new releases to keep the whole family entertained, from a new instalment of the ‘Descendants’ franchise to the return of ‘Futurama’, and ‘Abbott Elementary’. There are also some ‘Bluey’ and ‘Superkitties’ episodes for younger kids, along with the documentary ‘BRATS’ for you ’80s kids, and lots more! Here’s what’s coming to Disney+ UK in July 2024.

Not Dead Yet, Season 2 – 3rd July 2024 (Final Season)

From creators David Windsor and Casey Johnson and starring Gina Rodriguez, “Not Dead Yet” follows Nell Serrano, a self-described disaster, who writes obituaries at her local newspaper while navigating relationships in her personal and professional life. The twist – she can see the dead people she’s tasked with writing about, and they don’t hesitate to give her life advice. The series is adapted from the book “Confessions of a 40-something F**k Up” by Alexandra Potter.

Bluey Minisodes – 3rd July 2024 (7 Mini Episodes)

The collection of one- to three-minute “Bluey Minisodes” is written by “Bluey” creator Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio. The shorts highlight funny and sweet moments featuring Bluey and Bingo, leaning into playful interactions and games that further explore the characters and world of “Bluey.”

BRATS – 5th July 2024 (Film)

Feature documentary BRATS looks at the iconic films of the 1980s that shaped a generation and the narrative that took hold when their young stars were branded the “Brat Pack.” Director Andrew McCarthy reunites with his fellow Brat Packers — friends, colleagues and former foes, including Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez, Jon Cryer, Lea Thompson, and Timothy Hutton, many of whom he had not seen for over 30 years — to answer the question: What did it mean to be part of the “Brat Pack”?

Abbott Elementary Season 3, Part 2 – 10th July 2024 (Returning Series)

Mastermind: To Think Like A Killer – 11th July 2024 (Docuseries)

From award-winning executive producers Dakota and Elle Fanning, showrunner Dani Sloane, and director Abby Fuller, comes “Mastermind: To Think Like a Killer,” a fascinating new perspective on the woman whose crime-hunting innovations changed history. To stop serial killers, psychiatric nurse and professor Dr. Ann Burgess must first learn to think like one. With unprecedented access to the mastermind behind the development of modern serial-killer profiling, the series tells Burgess’ tenacious story and her compassion for victims which puts her at the centre of America’s most infamous true-crime cases. From the widely known Ed Kemper and Ted Bundy to lesser-known cases like the Ski Mask Rapist, Burgess investigates and studies the damaged psyches of victims and their attackers, putting two halves of the same story together to catch a killer. Largely an unsung heroine until now, Dr. Burgess impacted not only the FBI, she also radically championed the plight of women in America.

Descendants: The Rise Of Red – 12th July 2024 (Film)

Now Headmaster of Auradon Prep, former Villain Kid Uma extends an invite to the school to another VK – Red, the rebellious daughter of the tyrannical Queen of Hearts from Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts has long held a grudge against Auradon, especially against Cinderella, and seizes the opportunity to seek revenge when she drops her daughter off at school. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, Red must team up with Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter Chloe as they travel back in time to try to undo the traumatic event that set the young Queen of Hearts down her villainous path.

Will Trent, Season 2 – 17th July 2024 (Series)

Based on Karin Slaughter’s New York Times bestselling “Will Trent” series, Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system. Now, Will uses his unique point of view in the pursuit of justice and has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.

Superkitties Su-purr Charged, Season 2 – 17th July 2024 (Animated Series)

The world thinks Bitsy, Ginny, Sparks, and Buddy are just adorable kitties cuddling up at the Purr ‘N’ Play playspace. But, when trouble comes knocking, they transform into…SuperKitties! Righting wrongs wherever they pounce, this feline foursome is on a mission to protect the pets and people of Kittydale from villains like Mr. Puppypaws, Lab Rat, Cat Burglar, and Zsa-Zsa. Using their superpowers, cat-tastic gadgets, and, most importantly, their kindness and empathy, the SuperKitties make the world a better, more pawesome place.

Nat Geo’s Inside Airport Lost & Found – 17th July 2024 (Documentary)

Travelers lose millions of items at airports each year. Among them are the usual suspects – phones, neck pillows, earbuds. And the unusual ones – dentures, skis, raw fish, human remains, and cars. Ever wonder what happens to it all? Follow the journey of the lost stuff, from reunited at the Seattle Airport to reclaimed at the Unclaimed Baggage Center or auctioned off at the Pittsburgh Airport.

Futurama, Season 12 – 29th July 2024 (Returning Series)

Following Hulu’s critically acclaimed 2023 revival of Futurama, the epic sci-fi series from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen returns in 2024 with ten all-new episodes. On this orbit around the sun, our occasionally heroic crew embarks on mind-bending adventures involving birthday party games to the death, the secrets of Bender’s ancestral robot village, A.I. friends (and enemies), impossibly cute beanbags, and the true 5 million-year-old story behind the consciousness-altering substance known as coffee. And, of course, the next chapter in Fry and Leela’s fateful, time-twisted romance.
